David is a skillful and creative business attorney who began his legal career in Silicon Valley in 1981, just as the high-tech phenomenon was beginning to emerge on the global landscape. He represents a wide range of individuals and businesses, from small to large and from concept to startup to acquisition. David advises and protects clients on virtually every aspect of commerce, including intellectual property protection and registration, corporate, M&A and general commercial matters, technology transactions, entity formation, entrepreneurial activities, employment and traditional contract relationships. He also provides specialized advice in developing areas of commerce, including the internet, cloud services, domain disputes, e-commerce, internet of things, social media, SEO practices, electronic sabotage, electronic signatures, drones and UAS issues, cannabis and wireless communications.
David is a frequent speaker and writer and has regularly given talks both to legal and non-legal trade groups throughout the western United States on commercial matters and intellectual property. He authors a regular technology column for the Denver Business Journal and sits on several business advisory boards, including Seller Readiness, Cranium Studios and 5280 Professional Alliance. He serves on the mentor faculty at several start-up incubators, including The Commons on Champa, Boulder IdeaForge, and The Cube in Reno. He is a board member of the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce Infrastructure Committee and also serves on the board of directors for National History Day in Colorado. David volunteers in the Denver community and actively supports Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation of Denver.
